FAQ’s
WHAT IS COACHING?
It’s a partnership between a person and a ‘coach’ to help move towards the person’s goals. It’s not mentoring or being provided with a step-by-step blueprint – it’s working together to empower you to move closer to what you want.
WHAT IS POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY COACHING?
It’s an approach backed by science and research that focuses on your positive attributes and strengths to help increase well-being and happiness, plus achieve success in the areas you’d like to focus on. Personally, it’s an approach that resonates with my values of optimism, gratitude and belief that a better future is possible for everyone.
HOW DOES THAT DIFFER FROM GENERAL COACHING?
There are many coaching styles in an industry that’s not fully regulated. Positive Psychology Coaching is based on science, backed by research and its approach works. My Diploma course is accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) AND Association for Coaching® (AC).
WHAT IS ALCOHOL-FREE COACHING?
Alcohol-free coaching is for ‘normal’ or ‘middle lane’ drinkers who want to take a break from alcohol. It might be to lose weight for an event, or to help train consistently, or you’ve noticed you’re drinking too much, too fast, too often. Whatever your reason, having a break can be difficult and coaching can help you navigate that. I’ve obtained my AF specialisation from Andy Ramage, one of the world’s leading alcohol-free performance coaches, and Stephanie Chivers, a leading UK specialist in this area.
HOW DOES COACHING FOR BUSINESSES WORK?
First up, we discuss together what the organisational priorities are and how I can assist. I can then tailor small group or one on one sessions to best suit the company. It could be improving culture by helping to reset attitudes around drinking, or designing a workplace challenge to bring employee wellness to the forefront. It could be helping key executives be their best selves.
AND ‘WHAT’S NEXT’ COACHING?
The changes that come with getting a little older can be scary. We can be excited about new horizons or apprehensive. Should I change careers? Transition to retirement? Or stop work, and when? Will I be in good health, have enough money, continue to live with meaning and purpose? While there’s abundant financial advice, there’s not a lot of mental and emotional support for age-related lifestyle changes. Coaching can help figure out the essential elements for you.
WHO DO YOU WORK WITH?
I have a ninja-like awareness of the challenges facing:
- execs, particularly those in media, advertising and entertainment industries
- those wanting to take a break from alcohol,
- midlife women and men, wondering what’s next
so add value to people who identify with these areas. That said, it’s all about our connection so if you think I can help you, let’s chat.
I also coach for organisations wanting to improve employee well-being.
